Church Example 3:
From an actual church analysis.

Length of Time Attending this Church: 1/3 of your congregation has been attending for eight years or more. Well over half (56%) have been there less than five years. 1/4 for two years or less.

Length of Time in the Community: About 2/3 of your "new" congregation (< 2 yr.) just moved into the community. The others have been there longer. Almost 1/2 of the entire congregation has lived in the community over 8 years. This is important in understanding whether you have been able to attract your share of newcomers to the community, or whether you have outstripped community growth through outreach. In comparing to the community:

Length of Time you have been a Christian: 95% have been believers 6+ years. 4% are new converts (less than 2 years). Keep in mind that of this 4%, it is possible that 2/3 may have become Christians before they moved here, within the past two years.

Who Was Surveyed?

Our Analysis shows:

** So, of those who are new to your church (22% have attended for less than 2 years), it is likely that out of every ten :

  • <1 is a new convert
  • 7 are new to the community
  • 2+ probably came from other churches within the community
